COVID Tea Bowls
2020.5.23

The new collages celebrate the simple ritual of having tea with you, it’s what I’ve missed most in these last months. The inspiration, an 8th century Chinese quote ‘together, drinking our green tea …we stopped the war’. These words have been offered by contemporary Zen masters, the invitation to mindfulness is timeless, and now we truly do have time.

Here, to celebrate being together, are samples from the Tea Bowl series - and you can view more of series on my website. If you would like to make a donation to support food banks, homeless shelters, women's rights, etc (Dandelion or Amnesty International are two great examples) send me a copy of your receipt, and I will be happy to send you a piece from the collection (something like $108, the number of beads on a mala, might be auspicious, but it’s flexible). And if there is someone you’ve particularly missed having tea with, your piece could be shipped directly to them.

A sweet coincidence as I write this, the ping of a post ...my old zen master sharing a Chögyam Trungpa quote:

Enlightenment is like falling out of an airplane.
The bad news is that there is no parachute.
The good news is that there is no ground.
